HOW IT WORKS

A clear path, guided by the condition.

Not every concern needs testing. Not every finding needs remediation. The purpose of the process is to determine what is useful for your property.

01

Inspect

Start with what you have noticed, where it occurs, and any known water history. Review accessible areas and document observations.

02

Diagnose

Follow the evidence from the affected material toward possible pathways. Measurements help distinguish a surface symptom from an ongoing moisture condition.

03

Test when useful

Discuss what sampling could clarify and how the result would affect the next step. Testing is not necessary for every concern.

04

Explain

Separate observed conditions from possible explanations. Explain what is known, what remains uncertain, and which actions make sense.

05

Remediate when warranted

Match containment, removal or cleaning, and material handling to the condition. Identify moisture corrections that may need a separate trade.

06

Verify where appropriate

The scope determines the appropriate follow-up. This may include reviewing the work area, checking moisture, or additional evaluation.

BEFORE AN INSPECTION

What you know is a useful starting point.

  • Where and when you first noticed the concern
  • Whether the condition changes or returns
  • Any known leaks, water damage, or earlier repairs
  • Existing inspection or testing documentation

YOUR NEXT STEP

Not sure what you’re looking at?

Start with the condition. Prairie Mold helps determine what is happening and what the next step should be.
